Washington, Nov 3 -

Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young has signed on to cosponsor H.Res.870 which expresses gratitude and appreciation to the individuals and families who participated in the Taxpayer March on Washington on September 12, 2009.

“The freedom that our men and women in the military are so courageously fighting for, and the freedom that makes us American, was on full display at the Taxpayer March in D.C.,” said Rep. Young.  “Residents of all 50 states, including Alaska, took to the steps of the United States Capitol building to make it clear that they will not sit idly by as this country is forced further into debt by bank bailouts, as the government takes over their health care rights, as we move farther away from a sustainable energy policy, and as the America we know and love moves down the path to socialism.  I commend these outspoken taxpayers for being active members of our society, not content until their voices are heard.  The people have spoken, and now it is Speaker Pelosi’s time to listen and to act.”
